New Gen RAFW

The New generation show 1 on the friday was my last show of RAFW, i was tired, hungry, had sore feet from my heels and really needed an energy boost, but as soon as this show started i stood up and took notice.

The designers in this category were Mok Theorem, Christopher Dobosz, Paper skye, Poppy Lissiman and Arj Selvam.

My absolute favourite's were Mok theorem and Paper skye. I could wear absoultely everything they sent down the runway.

Mok Theorem stuck to a palette of pastels, incorporating lace, ruching, cutouts, tailoring and sheer fabrics. The models had messy hair in an updo and a neon lip, the collection flowed like a collection of my dream outfits, one after the other.

Christopher Dobosz continued with the tailored look that was featured heavily throughout most of the collections at RAFW as well as using a pastel palette.

Paper skye was next of the rank sending down an array of sheer, free flowing looks consisting of maxi's, oversized tanks, pleating and lots of layering. Magaret Zhang of Shine by Three styled and modelled beautifully for the labels lookbook which were included in the gift bags. The wedges used throughout the show by ALDO shoes were stunning and am definately looking to invest in a pair.

Poppy Lissiman added a pop of bright colours with her collection to break up the show and models wore quirky oversized tassle earrings in an array of exuberant colours.

Finally Arj Selvam was the last to show in this category and he changed things up by having a young man play the cello on the runway whilst models walked down to the soothing sounds. His line was very tailored and included dapper and sophisticated menswear.

TAFE show RAFW

The Tafe show would have to have been one of the most inspired and quirky shows at RAFW.

A talented group showcased collections inspired by the ocean, colour, bones, skulls and earthy tones.

I loved the braided hair do and the shoes were definately a high light of the show, i loved the detail that went into every part of the styling of all of the collections. 

The explosion of colour at Emma Mulholland's show, which was fittingly sponsered by Dylon and Styled by Paul Bui, was absolutely beautiful.

Michael Lo sordo RAFW

Michael Lo Sordo was a show that i was looking forward to and he did not dissapoint.

The show produced exceptionally well tailored garments. The main colour used for the collection was a crisp white with the addition of a smokey print on some of the garments.

Models (including Kelsey and Amanda from ANTM ) had sleek straight hair with a fresh face.

He mixed up tailored outfits with lots of drapery which allowed garments to move down the runway like a liquid dream. Pleating and sheer fabrics also featured heavily in this show.

Magdalena Valevska RAFW

My first stop for day 3 of Rosemount Australian Fashion week was Magdalena Valevska. What a dream of a show. The garments that walked down the runway were sophisticated and enviably elegant.

The colour palette was monochromatic consisting of black and white with a splash of pink. The detailing on the garments were exquisite and my fav would have to be the white crochet number in the first photo.

Group Show day one of RAFW

The group collection show on the monday included Uscari, Garth Cook, Subfusco, Lanphi and Flowers for a vagabond and what a beautiful assortment of looks by all 5 designers.

Uscari started the show with a short film showcasing this seasons looks then sent down an array of stunning and crisp white on white outfits. There was crochet, tailoring, relaxed jersey and lots of layering and detailing.

Garth Cook was next and he also embraced the key trend of tailoring and mixing it with pastel printed flowing pieces. Subfusco included both mens a womenswear, sending down a male model in a sheer printed blazer and short combo, mixing up the neautral palette embraced by the previous designers.

Subfusco’s collection was inspired by the four elements of the earth- earth. Air, fire and water as well as human existence. The colour palette was derived form these four elements. the fabric was created by the designer - Josh Scacheri, by digitally printing the design onto a mesh fabric creating a stunning effect.

Lanphi was all about prints. One of the key looks was a full flowing dress with cutouts on the back in a green and blue infused print.

Flowers for a Vagabond brought back the show with a monochromatic palette and sleek silhouettes. All in all a very talented group of designers, with fun wearable pieces.
